MUMBAI — Indian television is pretty famous for asking viewers to suspend their disbelief, but Naagin 7 just took things to a completely new level of unintended comedy.
If you happened to tune into Episode 38, titled “Radhika’s Deadly Betrayal”, you probably weren’t paying any attention to the actual plot. Why would you? Instead of a dark, mystical forest filled with supernatural transformations, viewers were treated to a direct view of a bright blue chroma key background and actors dangling awkwardly from clearly visible safety harnesses.
That’s about as catastrophic a mistake as one can make on live television. Somebody in the editing room literally forgot to put in visual effects and sent raw, uncut footage straight out of there. The clip was soon ripped and spread across the internet within minutes of airing. Needless to say, the internet is having a field day with it.

The Blue Screen Debacle
We’ve all seen some dodgy CGI on Indian television over the years. It’s practically part of the charm at this point. But completely skipping the post-production stage? That’s a new one.

In the scene that’s become ubiquitous on X and Instagram, you’re witnessing actors struggling to recite heavily emotional lines while suspended against a solid blue wall. The wires attached to them are plainly visible. The Times of India writes that the blunder broke the illusion entirely, turning a high-stakes dramatic twist into a behind-the-scenes rehearsal tape.
The fan reactions have been brutal. One viral tweet asked if viewers were watching a rough draft, while another suggested that a school video project would have cleaner editing. It’s hard to disagree. When a show has this kind of budget and a massive fan base, letting a raw green-screen file slip through to the final broadcast is just plain lazy.

OTT Platforms and Fan Disappointment
The backlash isn’t just on Twitter either. Over on the JioHotstar app, where the episode is streaming, the comment sections are flooded with people wondering how the episode passed quality checks. As reported by India Today, viewers are genuinely annoyed that such a massive oversight happened right before the season finale.
This isn’t the first time Naagin 7 has been dragged for its visual quality. Since January, the show has been getting a lot of stick for its heavy reliance on cheap-looking AI tools and subpar animations during its major action sequences. But this latest incident completely crosses the line from poor CGI into total neglect.
According to reports on Telly Express, the production team is scrambling to replace the faulty file on streaming platforms with the corrected version. But as anyone who spends five minutes online knows, once a video goes viral, you can’t exactly put the genie back in the bottle.
The memes are here to stay, and the producers are going to have a hard time living this one down. Let’s just hope that whoever is in charge of the finale remembers to render the files before next week.
